We are so glad to be offering nursery care for the “youngest among us” at St. Stephen’s Church. Our nursery is a place for children aged 4 years and younger to come and be cared for during our Sunday services. Our nursery staff is experienced and fully trained.
Baby Care
Our nursery is a warm, caring place where babies will have the space they need to be comfortable during the church service. A changing table, bottle warmer, swing, and soft toys are all available in our nursery.
Child Care
Children will have a fun morning in our nursery, with plenty of space to explore and play. With an abundance of toys and activities, your toddler will have lots to do during the Sunday service.

“A little about me…
I am from Ireland, from a big family, I am the youngest of nine children.
I came to America when I was 17. I have been in Ridgefield for over 26 years and have just recently moved to Danbury.
I have been taking care of children for over 30 years. I truly love what I do. I really want to make a difference in a child’s world, I love to teach and help them learn and grow.
I have been a nanny for over 10 years, I stayed home to take care of my 3 boys. My youngest is now 20 years old, how fast time goes by, enjoy every minute with your kids.
I have been in Ridgefield public schools since 2008, as a RISE (Ridgefield Intense special education) special education paraeducator. I am also a registered behavior technician. I love being with children and seeing every new accomplishment they make, whether its their first word or when they ask a friend to play. All of them are unique and amazing.
I can’t wait for my adventure to begin with St Stephens church and get to know everyone.
Thank you for this opportunity i can’t wait to meet everyone.”
Please arrive a few minutes early on your first visit to fill out a registration form.
Children are very special to us at St. Stephen’s. We recognize that each child is born with an innate sense of God. We do our best to make sure all children realize their sacred worth and know that God made them and loves them. In all that we do in Children’s Ministry we seek to welcome children into a safe and nurturing environment where they can learn Bible stories, our Episcopal Faith Traditions, and feel a true sense of family at St. Stephen’s.
St. Stephen’s will be offering many ways for your family to keep the faith this year! Each month, we hope you’ll feel motivated to participate in one, two, three… or even all of the kid-friendly activities below! We want to encourage families to try and commit to at least 2 hours of faith per month. Try starting off small, with one service, and work your way up by adding more fun activities. The more we see each other, the more we will strengthen our faith community – and our kids will feel the bonds formed through Christ.

We have Sunday Story time for kids during the Gospel Reading each Sunday. The story will align with our Gospel Reading in the big church and will allow for great family conversations afterward. Kids will be led in lively discussions following the story and will return to their families during The Peace.
We’re excited to announce that we will be continuing our Family Faith Nights through the Fall! One weekday evening a month, families will gather for a night of interactive bible stories, crafts, music, videos, and more!
Throughout the year, we will invite families to take part in special service projects to help build community and to encourage our kids to actively look for ways to help others. We will be working on a variety of projects this year, partnering with charities and causes both near and far!
Each week, families will receive a newsletter with a recap of our Gospel lesson, Whirl kids video, resources for keeping the faith alive at home, and other special resources. To make sure you are on our email list, please send a message to Sara Armstrong, sarmstrong328@outlook.com, with your preferred email address.
