St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church of Ridgefield

Come and See

A guilt-free, come as you are exploration of how the loving God can liberate you for a fuller life.

August 27, 28 & 29 at St. Stephen’s

This is our way of allowing everyone to experience church in a way that makes them feel comfortable. It’s not about sitting in a pew, it’s about seeing what type of community the modern church offers and how it can be an important part of your life, no matter what your age.
— Rev. Whitney Altopp

Come and See is being hosted jointly by St. Stephen’s Ridgefield and Christ Church Redding Ridge.

August 27

Loving: We’ll gather at St. Stephen’s in Ridgefield on Sunday for a potluck supper, followed by an address by Bishop Stephen Cottrell of the Diocese of Chelmsford in England. Bishop Cottrell is said by our own Bishop Ian Douglas to be the British equivalent in preaching of our own Michael Curry. Enjoy music from the FCC Worship Band! We’ll end the evening with dessert.

SUNDAY is a POT-LUCK PICNIC – please bring a dish to share & a chair!

August 28

Liberating: We gather again on Monday evening for supper and for more teaching from Bishop Cottrell. We consider being liberated in Christ-being healed in all kinds of ways and being given hope for the future. Our music for the evening is provided by Doug and Ginny Hartline. We end again with dessert.

August 29

Life-Giving: Our third time together is on Tuesday evening beginning again with a shared meal. We consider the life we gain in Christ by virtue of God’s free gift of grace. Bishop Cottrell speaks again, and we’ll have another round of great music, from the Jesse Lee Worship Team, which leads the worship at Jesse Lee Church’s 10am contemporary service. And of course we end the evening with dessert.
